Sri Lanka have recalled middle-order batsman Russel Arnold for their tour of New Zealand.
Left-hander Arnold, 31, was dropped in July but has fought his way back into the one-day squad after scoring heavily in domestic cricket.
Middle-order batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, controversially dropped against Pakistan in October as the selectors blooded younger players, has also been recalled.
Opener Avishka Gunawardene, middle-order batsmen Jehan Mubarak and Thilina Kandamby and leg-spinner Kaushal Lokuarachchi have all been dropped. Marvan Atapattu has been reconfirmed as captain and Mahela Jayawardene as vice-captain.
After the retirement of wicketkeeper Romesh Kaluwitharana, Kumar Sangakkara will play again as a wicketkeeper batsman in both forms of the game.
Muttiah Muralitharan will travel with the team although he will be unable to play initially as he steps up his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery in August
Muralitharan has resumed bowling after being given the all-clear by his surgeon and is targeting a possible international return in January for the Test series. Sri Lanka are due to play a five-match one-day series starting on December 26 followed by a two-match Test series in the New Year.
