Don8217;t let the young looks fool you, rookie Kyra Shroff is all set to take the tennis world by storm.

The 14-year-old prodigy is tipped to be the next big thing in Indian tennis, but the teenager has her feet firmly grounded. Holder of the under-18 National title she won at the age of 14 last year, Kyra was dealt a 0-6, 0-6 double bagel by eighth seed Chan Yung-Jan of Taiwan in the first round of the Sunfeast Open today, but that does not upset her vision for the future. 8220;I just want to go enjoy and gather as much experience as possible,8221; she had said before the match.

A student at the Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy MBTA in Bangalore, Kyra was given a wild card for the tournament, the decision coming as an acknowledgement of her exceptional talent that was evident in the DSCL Nationals in Delhi last year, where she won the Under-18 title.

Her early success has prompted her to shift base from Mumbai, where she started playing in Woodhouse Gymkhana at the age of seven. 8220;8216;I may have to put behind my Board exams if my tennis itinerary clashes with that,8221; she said.

Kyra, who has been training in MBTA for four years, is already playing on the European Tennis Federation ETF circuit. The European circuit is part of her training schedule under Italian coach Mose Navarra 8212; part of the faculty at the MBTA. 8220;I feel I have improved a lot under Navarra8217;s guidance,8221; she said.

A juvenile diabetic, Kyra is ready to fight it out and make it big in the world of tennis. A finalist of the Asian junior tournament in Hyderabad in 2005, Kyra is a class X student of St Anne8217;s, Mumbai. 8220;Tennis has brought with it a lot of lifestyle changes. But I8217;m enjoying myself,8221; she said.

A fan of Roger Federer and Justine Henin, Kyra also thinks very highly of Lleyton Hewitt. 8220;That8217;s because Hewitt is a fighter,8221; she concludes.
