SALEM, JANUARY 19: Kuldeep Kumar of Uttar Pradesh and Renuka Hegde of Karnataka bagged the first two golds, winning the under-20 1500m race of the 15th Inter-state Athletic Championship at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium on Wednesday.

Holder B B Manjunath Kar finished sixth while S Sunder TN and Kashmir Singh of Punjab took the silver and bronze respectively.

Kuldeep won in 3:59.29s, Sunder clocked 3:59.98s and Kashmir Singh finished in 4:01.09s.

Renuka won in 4:46.98s, Jessy Thomas ker took the silver at 4:48.59s and Jaswinder Kaur Pun the bronze 4:49.32s.

Karam Veer Raj and Tajinder Kaur of Punjab took the gold in the under-18 1500m boys and girls sections respectively. Karam Veer clocked 4:02.40 while Tajinder finished with 4:49.16s.
