Kirtanes go down fighting

PUNE, Aug 2: The Kirtane cousins 8212; Nitin and Sandeep 8212; of India lost in the doubles final of the first leg of the Egypt Futures, going down to Australian pair of Glen Knox and Darren Curral 7-6, 2-6, 5-7, according to the reports reaching here today.

The duo from Pune had defeated A Youzni Russai and Timur G Uzbekistan 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the semi-finals on Thursday. The cousins have earned 12 points for their effort.

Route to the final
1st Rd: bt Mustafa Ghouse India-Munir Morocco 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 7/1.
