Karnal power system to be strengthened

In view of annual growth of over 10 per cent in power load in Karnal district, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam have jointly prepared a plan to strengthen the transmission and distribution system in the district.

In view of annual growth of over 10 per cent in power load in Karnal district, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have jointly prepared a plan to strengthen the transmission and distribution system in the district.

A spokesman said here today that a new 220-KV sub-station will be set up at Bastara village and two new substations would be constructed at Sita Mai and Nadana villages.

It has also been proposed to upgrade the existing 33 KV sub-stations to 132 KV level at Nagla Megha, Bhadson, Staundi and Ramba. The UHBVN also plans to construct 33 KV sub-stations at Dabarthala, Kaimla, Chochra, Kalram, Shahpur, Gullarpur, Barota, Raipur Jattan and Dadlana.

He said that it had been planned to augment the existing capacity of 33 KV sub-station Nigdhu and Rahra by installing one more transformer. Similarly, the capacity of Dacher, Ramba, Shamgarh and Jamba sub-stations will also be augmented by installing additional or higher capacity power transformers.

It has also been decided to install High Voltage Distribution System and Aerial Bunched Cable-Based System in seven residential colonies and 36 villages.
