It was Jyoti Randhawa8217;s eight under par 64 that propelled him into the lead on the second day of the Rs 65 lakh DLF Masters; he had a total of 12 under par 132.

Jyoti started the day with a bogey after teeing off from the tenth, but made no mistakes from that inauspicious start. He birdied the 11th , 12th 17th and 18th holes to make the turn at three under par 33. Birdies on the first, third, fifth, sixth and seventh holes resulted in a five under par on his back nine, resulting in an eight under par 64 today. However, he would have been a tad disappointed as he narrowly missed tying the course record 8212; a 63 which is currently held by Argentina8217;s Rodrigo Cuello 8212; after he missed a chip and putt for birdie from off the green on the par five ninth, his last hole for the day.

8220;I hit the ball much better today and got a feel for the greens and fairways. However, I did feel bad for the mistakes I made today as I missed a two-footer on the tenth hole and a few more small putts,8221; said Jyoti.

Gaurav Diwan, who carded a four under par 68 today following a 69 in the first 18-holes yesterday is in second place with his total of seven under par 137. Australia8217;s Richard Backwell who carded a two-under-par, 70 today is third at six under par, 136. Richard eagled the 18th hole for the second day in a row after he hit a drive into the centre of the fairway and hit his five iron to just six feet from the pin.

SSP Chowrasia, Vijay Kumar and Ranjit Singh are tied for fourth place at four-under-par, 140. Ranjit Singh who grabbed the overnight lead yesterday with a six under par, 66 in the first round, did not have a very satisfactory round today, carding a two over par 74. Youngster Himmat Singh Rai played some consistent golf, carding a 71 after a 70 yesterday and is tied alongside Digvijay Singh, Gaurav Ghei and Mukesh Kumar for seventh place at three under par 141.

Shiv Kapur and R Srinivas are tied at one under par 143 and are currently in 11th place.
