
MUMBAI, MARCH 27: Fate played a cruel move with young Julius Moraes. The 21-year-old footballer of Companeroes Sports Club was killed in a freak mishap on Friday, March 20 in South Bombay. While Julius died on the spot, his pillion-riding friend, Ignatius Fernandes, had to be rushed to Bombay Hospital for surgery.
A commerce student at the St Andrew8217;s College, Moraes was a football fanatic who was also good at hockey. Apart from Componeroes, Julius also played football for Marol Village Boys and hockey for Marolites.
He was a very tough guy,8221; said Companeroes8217; coach, Timothy Perreira where Julius played as left-back. The funeral will leave for St John8217;s Evangelist, Marol at 3.30 p.m. tomorrow.
