JAIPUR, APRIL 2: National Union of Journalists India (NUJI) and Journalists Association of Rajasthan (JAR) on Sunday urged Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to immediately look into the non-submission of the report by the Manisana Singh Wage Board for journalists and non-journalists.
The report was not handed over to the Government by the Wage Board so far despite Union Labour Minister Dr Satyanarayan Jatia’s announcment that the report would be submitted by the Board by March 31 this year, said NUJI national vice-president Atmadeep and general secretary Gulab Batra and JAR president Anand Joshi and general secretary Suresh Pareek in a joint statement here.
They said the non-submission of the report was an act of "betrayal" with journalists and non-journalists across the country. Both unions demanded that the PM himself should intervene in the issue and added that the print media has shown enough patient in this regard.
