BANGKOK, OCT 15: Jeev Milkha Singh fired a superb 69 in the second round to climb to a joint sixth position in the Lexus International Golf Tournament here today.

Jyoti Randhawa also had a very good round here, returning 68 to climb up to the 18th place while Arjun Singh recorded a 69 to move up and share the 28th spot.

Three other Indians made the cut on the second day which saw Pakistan8217;s Taimur Hussain holing a series of tricky putts to shoot five under par 67 and remain one stroke ahead of Singapore8217;s Mardan Mamat and South Africa8217;s Hendrik Buhrmann.

The Indians making the cut included Amandeep Johl, whose form slipped today and shot a 74 to slide down from the fourth to 28th slot. The others were Uttam Singh Mundy in 47th with an aggregate of 144 and Amritinder Singh in 54th with 145.

Jeev shared the sixth place with four others who also had 138 after two days of golf. Randhawa who had a par round of 72 yesterday had a total of 140 while Arjun Singh and Amandeep Singh Johl were at 142.

Gaurav Ghei, Vivek Bhandari and Indrajit Bhalotia failed to make the cut which came at two over 146.

Hussain, one of the longest hitters on tour, has a two round total of nine under 135 and takes over from overnight leader Buhrmann with a 70, and Mamat, who added a 69 to his first round of 67 at the Windmill Park County club here.

Mukesh keeps lead

LUCKNOW: Mukesh Kumar was leading the board for the second consecutive day, with five under 135, after two round of the Rs 6 lakh Wills Northern Open Golf Championship played at the par-70,6,323 yard Lucknow golf course here today.

Two strokes behind, at joint second spot were Lucknow8217;s Vijay Kumar and Rafiq Ali at three under 137. Feroz Ali was placed on the fourth spot at two under 138.

Wellingdon second

GURGAON: Rambagh Club Jaipur played consistently finishing on top with 222.4 points on the opening day of the two-day sixth Johnnie Walker International Club Golf Championship at the Classic Golf Resort.

Willingdon Club Mumbai were placed second with 224.2 points.
