NEW DELHI, Feb 4: Jeev Milkha Singh of India failed to make the cut the two million dollar (1.28 million US) Greg Norman International golf tournament in Sydney. The Indian who cared a four-over 77 on the par 73 course, brought home a par card for the second round. But it was not enough as the cut was applied at par 146.
Welshman David Park topped the second round leaderboard here Friday. Park fired six birdies and sank a 35-foot putt on the 14th for an eagle three on the way to an eight-under 65 and lie 13-under 133 for the tournament. He leads Scotland’s Andrew Coltart (67-68) by two strokes.
with Australian Lucas Parsons holding down third spot at 10-under 136 after a seven-under 66.
India-born Daniel Chopra, who now plays for Sweden, carded 73 and 70 in the first two rounds and made the cut. Chopra, this year is playing the Australian PGA Tour after failing to retain his European PGA card at the end of last season.
Greg Norman will be a frustrated onlooker at his own party this weekend as hemissed the cut. For the second year running, Norman was dumped out at the Lakes at the halfway stage after failing to get to grips with the challenging par-73 course. Norman carded 76 and 75 to stumble out. Others missing the cut included Australasian Tour Order of Merit leader Michael Campbell, who has won his last two events, and Ireland’s Padraig Harrington.
