CHANDIGARH, Feb 4: The local units of Janata Dal, CPI-M and CPI would hold a protest march in the city on February 9 to protest against the quot;unspeculative move of the Central government to crush the poor people under the increasing prices of essential commodities and squeezing subsidies on food grainsquot; and a quot;calculated move by the pseudo saffron brigade to attack minorities in the countryquot;.
In a joint statement issued here today, local Janata Dal president Surrinder Bhardwaj, CPI-M secretary Inderjit Singh Grewal and CPI secretary Sohan Lal Bansal condemned the quot;misrule of the BJP-led government at the Centrequot; and said that it had lost all moral rights to continue in power as it had failed to protect the rights of common people in the country.
The leaders lambasted BJP for its quot;hollow slogans on the eve of elections wherein it had committed to fight against bhaiy, bhookh and bhrashtachar terror, hunger and corruption and said that against its promise it had apparently started promoting the forces at work to terrorise the minorities in the country.
quot; The government is working for the benefit of the rich in the country at the cost of the poor as a part of its hidden agenda, quot; they alleged.Meanwhile, the proposed protest march by the three party units in the city would culminate into a protest rally at Sector 17.
