Jawan hangs himself

CHANDIGARH, Feb 21: A 23-year-old jawan reportedly committed suicide by tying himself from a water-tank here.

According to police sources, the jawan, Manjit Singh of 3rd Punjab Regiment posted in Leh, was putting up at a transit camp with some other members of his regiment near Behlana village, for the past few days. The deceased hailed from Karnal and had only recently returned after a two-month holiday. Manjit Singh had got married only a few months ago.
