KOHIMA, MARCH 14: Nagaland Chief Minister S C Jamir, who is under threat of agitation by the opposition which boycotted the just-concluded elections on the Naga issue, today sought the help of all political parties and NGOs to solve the Naga problem.

Barring the Congress, all political parties boycotted the February election, observing it was untimely in view of the ongoing peace talks between the government and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland Isaac-Muivah.They have also threatened agitation at the installation of Jamir government.

Jamir, who confirmed that he had met the self-styled commander-in-chief of the NSCN I-M, V S Atem in January, urged political parties and NGOs to form 8220;a common platform with my government8221; to shoulder the 8220;duty bound8221; responsibility in resolving the five-decade-old Naga issue.

In a statement here, the Chief Minister said, 8220;We owe it to ourselves and even more so to posterity8221;.
