Cigarette and hotels major ITC Ltd on Friday posted a 26.41 per cent decline in profit after tax PAT at Rs 567.89 crore for the quarter ended March as compared to Rs 771.75 crore for the same quarter in 2004-05. Total income however, rose 27.84 per cent to Rs 2,859.08 crore for the fourth quarter in the year 2005-06 from Rs 2236.43 crore in the year-ago period.
The board has recommended a dividend of Rs 2.65 per share of Re 1 each for the financial year ended March 31.
For the year ended March 31, the company registered a higher net profit of Rs 2,235.35 crore as against Rs 2,191.40 crore for the year 2004-05. The total income increased to Rs 10,076.61 crore in 2005-06 from Rs 7875.26 crore in 2004-05
