IOC may expel 7

Lausanne, Jan 24: Olympic chiefs want to throw seven members out of the 113-member International Olympic Committee IOC because of the Salt Lake City bribery scandal.

The IOC is expected to announce later today that it would recommend this to a special meeting of all members in March.

Some 13 members were accused of taking goods and services worth 600,000 from Salt Lake before an IOC vote gave the 2002 Winter Games to the US city.in 1995.

Two members have already resigned over the scandal Finland8217;s Pirjo Haggman and Libya8217;s Bashir Mohammed Attarabulsi.
