MUMBAI, OCT 17: The Bournvita Inter-School chess tournament organised by the Kalina Recreation and Sports Club and the Bombay Chess Association is expected to draw a huge field again.

The tournament that gets under way on Oct 23 and continues until Nov 1 at the Don Bosco High School, Matunga, invites entries from school students including those of Standard 10 and is open to all schools in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts. Competition will be held in three age categories under-8, 10 and 12 and Open.

Participants will also vie for the Vasudevan Trophy for the best School and the Falcon Trophy for the next best school. Father Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, earned the right to keep the inaugural Vasudevan Memorial Rolling Trophy after winning it three times in a row.

Bournvita will sponsor the entry fee for the Best Boy and Best Girl in each group to the National Chess Championships. The top eight players from each age group will play Simultaneous chess against two National level players.
