Information on Singur land acquisition for the Tata small-car project will be published within a short time, said state industry minister Nirupam Sen on Wednesday.

Nirupam Sen repeated Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee8217;s statement that work on a detailed account of the issue and also the list of plot holders who have given their consent for handing over land to the government, is being readied.

8220;The number of such plot-holders range between 12,000 and 12,500. The list is being made alphabetically. It will take some more time. There were holidays in between that hampered the work,8221; Sen said today.

About Mamata Banerjee8217;s consistent demonstration and hungerstrike, he reiterated that whatever issues Banerjee has can be discussed. The state government, he added, has repeatedly made requests to the Trinamool chief to end

agitation and come forward for talks.

Talking to the media at the Writers8217; Buildings, the minister said he was not aware if corporates competing with Tata are fuelling the Singur issue, but called it 8220;unfortunate8221; if it was happening at all. In his first comments on the issue, Ratan Tata had hinted to the media earlier today that some industry competitors may be fuelling the whole issue.

Sen also his expressed happiness over the trust Tata has displayed on the state government8217;s commitment and his assurance of implementing the project at Singur only. 8220;In today8217;s competitive world, everybody corporates has a right to sell his own product. It is a world of free and fair competition,8221; he said.

Sen, incidentally, has cancelled his Delhi tour. Refusing to elaborate, he said, 8220;so many things can happen8221;.
