
NEW DELHI, FEB 21: The annual rate of inflation shot up by 0.15 percentage points to 4.73 per cent for the week ended February 6, on sharp increase in administered prices of liquified petroleum gas.
Compared to 4.73 per cent (provisional), the rate of inflation, based on wholesale price index (WPI), stood at 4.58 per cent (P) in the previous week and 5.36 per cent in the corresponding week of last year.
Inflation has been slowly moving up after touching a 56-week low of 4.43 per cent for the week ended January 9.
During the week, the index for "all commodities" (base:1981-82100) rose marginally by 0.1 per cent to 354.2 (P) from 353.9 the week before.Meanwhile, the latest inflation based on final WPI data stood at 6.5 per cent for the week ended December 12, compared to 7 per cent calculated provisionally.
