
Entrusted with the task of making security arrangements on the eve of Independence Day, Home Secretary Vinod Duggal said the Home Ministry would approach its counterpart in UK to ascertain the Indian link in the foiled plot to blow up US-bound planes from Heathrow airport. Ministry sources said Scotland Yard has already alerted Interpol to get more information about 17-year-old Abdul Patel. Patel is the son of an Indian immigrant in Britain and his father is suspected to a al-Qaeda leader in UK.
