The ‘Pran Pratistha Dwadashi’ (consecration anniversary) of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be held on Wednesday amid ‘vishesh abhishek’ (special ritual bathing) of the idol of Ram Lalla, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the ceremony, the Trust managing the temple said.
Singh, who will be the main ‘yajman’ (host) during the consecration anniversary programme, will also hoist a flag at the Annapurna temple or Sita Ki Rasoi, one of the seven shrines located in the main temple complex.
The Union Minister and the CM will also address a gathering at Angad Teela as part of the main programme and will offer prayers at the Hanuman Garhi temple.
The two senior BJP leaders will arrive at the Ram Mandir around 11.30 am to participate in the event and rituals will remain in Ayodhya for nearly four hours, a senior official said.
The official told the Indian Express that though there will be a restriction on movement for about 15 minutes at the Ram and Hanuman Garhi temples, the devotees coming for darshan will not be stopped otherwise.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had performed the consecration rituals of Ram Lala idol on January 22, 2024. The two had hoisted the saffron flag atop the Ram temple in a grand ceremony on November 25, 2025.
