Indian Express CFore Survey

For the 8216;India Empowered8217; Special Edition, we commissioned market research agency CFore to conduct a survey across the country to map the nation8217;s aspirations and expectations. Findings on various aspects are being carried in the relevant sections of this Edition. 3,012 people were polled between 14 and 22 August in 11 cities8212;Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Patna, Coimbatore and Raipur8212;and adjoining rural areas. 48 per cent of the respondents were from rural India, and 46 per cent were women. The results of the survey indicate a mixture of optimism and pessimism. There8217;s faith in the future, but also near-fatalistic acceptance of some of our societal ills.
