CHANDIGARH, NOV 12: The Indian cricket team would set a record of maximum appearances in one-day internationals in a calendar year when they take on Zimbabwe in the final of the Coca Cola Cup triangular at Sharjah tomorrow.

India would be playing its 40th limited overs game and the 105th match to be played worldwide, according to Punjab Cricket Association statistician Rakesh Sanghi.

India and Pakistan hold the record for the maximum number 39 of one-dayers played in a calendar year.

In the 27-year-old history of the shortened version of the game, 127 matches were played in 1996, when Pakistan took part in 39 matches to erase the mark set by England in 1987 of 31. India had broken England8217;s record last year.

Australia having participated in 25 stands second in the list.

Zimbabwe would be playing their 23rd one-dayer tomorrow to join New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka as the third in the list this year.
