
New Delhi, Feb 28: India and Lanka have been unable to finalise the negative and 100 per cent tariff concession list under the Indo-Sri Lanka free trade agreement within the stipulated 60 days which ends today.
Though a commerce ministry team had been rushed to Colombo earlier this week, both nations had been unable to finalise the list, official sources said.
India and Lanka had held two round of talks on Friday and Saturday to thrash out the differences and finalise the list but negotiations were yet to be completed, they said. Another round of talks has been scheduled for Tuesday.India and Sri Lanka signed the historic free trade agreement on December 28 last during Lankan president Chandrika Kumaratunga8217;s visit here for phased reduction in tariffs and enhanced economic co-operation between both the nations.
