BSF, Pamp;SB in final
NEW DELHI: Border Security Force BSF beat Steel Authority of India SAIL 3-1 in the semi-finals of the 35th Nehru-ONGC Hockey Tournament at the National Stadium here on Monday.
BSF will clash with Punjab and Sind Bank. The bankmen defeated IHF Blues 6-5 via tie-breaker, after being level 2-2 in regulation time.
Foreign coach
CHENNAI: The Badminton Association of India BAI is contemplating to engage a foreign coach to train the talented shuttlers, according to BAI executive president Prakash Padukone.
He said though BAI was yet to take a concrete decision on hiring a foreign coach, it had in mind a coach from either Indonesia or China.
Squash team
MUMBAI: The Central government has approved the two-women Indian squash team for Bangkok Asian Games but rejected the men8217;s team due to the absence of top two players. National champion Mekhla Subedar and former tennis player Sohin Kumari of Delhi form the women8217;s team.
Pakistan lose
NEW DELHI:Pakistan lost for the first time in six matches but both the teams qualified for the semi-finals in the Kanishka World Cup cricket for the blind here on Monday.
Pakistan and Australia have qualified for the semifinals. New Zealand piled up 323 for no loss to beat Sri Lanka by 76 runs. South Africa routed England by 10 wickets.
