Bagan plans put on hold

CALCUTTA: Mohun Bagan is likely to move High Court on Monday against the verdict of a city civil court, which stalled the premier Football Club’s move to form a joint venture company with the United Breweries Group. The court ordered Bagan to maintain `status quo’ in the matter yesterday.

The decision of the court went in favour of the group of officials who have been opposing the plans of the Bagan secretary Anjan Dutta. The rival group had challenged the secretary’s authority to call a special general meeting on January 28 without consulting the executive body. It was in this meeting that the decision to form the joint venture company was taken.
