Dalmiya plea
NEW DELHI:International Cricket Council (ICC) president Jagmohan Dalmiya urged players and journalists who have been offered money to fix matches to come out openly and name the people who had approached them. He said that ICC or cricket boards cannot play the role of investigating agencies. “We just can’t go to a cricketer’s residence to raid it because of allegations levelled against him. We need proof and only those who have knowledge of this murky business should come up to help clean the game,” he said on Thursday.
He revealed the ICC will be setting up a high-level panel which will include players like Richie Benaud, Supreme Court judge and members of House of Lords to go into the match fixing and betting charges.
