
Dacoits kill shepherd
Pune: A gang of armed dacoits hacked to death a shepherd and seriously injured his son in an isolated area at Koteshwarwadi near Talegaon Dabhade and took away valuables and cash amounting to Rs 46,000 on Saturday night.
The dacoits, armed with sticks and axes, attacked at least five houses in Koteshwarwadi and Mawadi areas before attacking a tent belonging to the shepherd Baban Takle 50. After making unsuccessful attempts at four other houses, the dacoits attacked the tent in Koteshwarwadi. Takle, his wife and his son, Jagan, were in the tent when the dacoits attacked them. Takle who tried to stop the dacoits was severely beaten by the dacoits. He died while being taken to the hospital.

Citizens invited to register plaints
Pune: Pune Municipal Commissioner Arun Bhatia has invited citizens to register their complaints regarding unauthorised constructions at respective ward offices from April 20-29. A statemenon Sunday stated that several illegal constructions occupied the road space adding to the traffic chaos. Genuine problems have been invited pertaining to such illegal constructions, the statement added.
