Kaushik appointed GM, DIS
The Chandigarh Administration has appointed PCS officer R.K. Kaushik, on deputation with the Administration for a period of two years, as General Manager, District Industries Centre, and Secretary, State Transport Authority. Kaushik is to replace Arun Sekhri, who is likely to be repatriated to his parent state of Punjab. Sekhri has not been given any appointment in UT, and only remains assistant returning officer till elections are over.

Vishwas for kids
Vishwas Welfare Society, promoted by parents of mentally challenged children has opened a school for such children. Called Vishwas8217;, the school has eight children to begin with and is situated in Prayas building in Sector 38-B.According to Jiwan P. Kapoor, the president of the society, the motive behind opening the school is to provide a conducive environment for the kids.

Habitat Week
Habitat Week will be celebrated by the World Wide Fund For Nature-India Northern Region from October 1 to October 5 in the city.
