Punjabi (Gyani) result today
The result of the Punjabi (Gyani) examination, conducted by Punjab University in April, will be declared tomorrow. According to a press statement by Deputy Registrar (Examinations), Harbhajan Singh, copies of the result gazette will be available at the enquiry counter of the university at the gymnasium hall between 10 a. m. and 5 p. m.

Convener of RJD students’ wing appointed
Jashan Deep Singh of PEC has been appointed convener of the students’ wing of Rashtriya Janata Dal. Announcing this appointment, president of Rashtriya Janata Dal, V. S. T. Malik said the students wing of RJD would be announced very soon and that they would contest the elections of the students council of PU and other city colleges.

US move on scientists flayed
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has criticised the decision of the US government to repatriate Indian scientists. In a press statement, Arun Sood, the Punjab state vice-president of ABVP, stated that the ABVP would be writing to Indian scientists settled in USA to return to their homeland in an attempt to put an end to the brain drain.

GRIEVANCE
Delay in repair of phones flayed
The Chandigarh Telecom Subscribers Association (CTSA) has criticised the delay in repair of telephone faults in the city. In a joint press statement, president, R. K. Verma and general secretary, D. K. Khera, stated that the Sector 34 exchange had an error which has resulted in the exchange not registering any complaints for the past two days.

Punjab BSP gen secy’s arrest flayed
Secretary of Punjab State Council of Communist Party of India, Joginder Dayal, has condemned the arrest of Avtar Singh Karimpuri, general secretary of the state BSP, along with five others. In a statement issued here today, he said that the state government had resorted to undemocratic methods to divert the attention of the masses from rising prices of essential commodities, steep hike in bus fares and power tariff.

US NAGAR ISSUE
US Nagar part of Uttarakhand
The president of the local unit of Garhwal Ganga Salaan Kalyan Sangathan, in a letter to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, has said that Udham Singh Nagar was an inseparable part of Uttarakhand and should not be separated from it.
