Campus Admit cards for B. Ed at Dev Samaj college
Admit cards of students residing in Chandigarh and nearby areas for the PU B.Ed entrance test are being distributed at the Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36. According to an official statement issued by the Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sodhi Ram, admit cards will be available on July 10 and 11 from 11 am to 5 pm. This has been done keeping in view the indefinite strike by the university employees, the press statement added.

Sumission of marks card by July 15
Candidates seeking admission to nine Social Science departments in PU would be required to submit their detail marks card in the office of the Centralised admission committee (Department of Political Science) by 5 pm on July 15. The dates for interviews have been tentatively fixed for July 22-23, according to the convener of the centralised admission committee, Bhupinder S. Brar. The exact date of admissions and interviews would be announced in a few days, he added.

Religion Baha’is observe Bab’s anniversary
The Baha’is observed the 148th death anniversary of one of the central figures of their faith, the Bab, here today.According to secretary of the State Baha’i Council of Punjab, Rashmi, they offered prayers in memory of their Prophet."Mirza Ali Mohammad, a 25-year-old Persian, who took the title of the Bab, which means the "Gate", was the Prophet Herald of the Baha’i Faith," she added.

Lecture Lecture on human rights held
A lecture on “National and International Perspective of Human Rights ”was organised by Labour Bureau, here today, with a view to cultivating a level of concern for human rights at the national level among Central Government employees. Chairman, Department of Laws, Punjab University, Veer Singh, said, the spread of awareness regarding human rights results in minimisation of the baser instincts in man. Director General, Labour Bureau, S. R. S. Gill called upon the heads of Central Government offices in the City to join hands in organising similar ventures in regard to human rights.

Criticised CTCC leaders flay statement
In a joint press statement issued here today, Balraj Singh, chairman, and Phool Singh, general secretary, Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee criticised the statement of the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashpal Singh in which he claimed that the BJP was the well wisher of the downtrodden as they had appointed some Scheduled Caste on higher offices.
