Rally by CTU Workers8217; Union
The CTU Worker8217;s Union held a rally near the Sector 17 bus terminus rally in support of their demands including bonus from 1997-98 and 1998-99, release of dearness allowance due since July and filling up of vacant posts. It said the workers will join the November 2 dharna organised by unions affiliated to the Chandigarh UT Subordinate Federation if their demands are not met.

Karamcharis8217; stir tomorrow
The Government Karamchari Union will hold a rally to press for their demands of dearness allowance, bonus and filling up of vacant posts, on Monday, according to a statement. The union further said that the workers of the Government Press will take out a procession near the Housing Board Chowk in the afternoon.

Freshers8217; Day
Freshers8217; Day was organised by the Commerce Society of Government College Sector 46. Kabir, of BBA-I, was declared Mister Fresher while Anju, of B.Com-I, was Miss Fresher. Mukul and Monica were the runners-up. The evening had the students dancing to the music.
