PDS sugar quota enhanced for Nov
In view of the festival season, the Chandigarh Administration has enhanced the quota of levy sugar through PDS to 700 grams per unit, instead of the present quota of 600 grams per unit of ration card. The enhanced quota is available only for the month of November.

Excellence award
The Indian Economic Development and Research Association, New Delhi, has awarded the quot;National Educational Excellence Awardquot; to Dr A.C. Vaid, principal of the GGDSD College, Sector 32, and the college. The award has been given for excellent contribution in the field of education by an individual and the institution headed by the same individual.

Reevaluation result
The reevaluation result of B.A.III general will be declared on October 29, according to a press release issued by the Controller of Examinations in Chandigarh today. The copies of the gazette will be available at the new enquiry building.

Staffer bereaved
Sona Devi 90, mother of R.P. Sharma, deputy chief photographer in The Indian Express, presently posted at Lucknow, died today at Pratapgarh near Benaras. She leaves behind two sons and four daughters.
