
Wrestler Dharamveer dies
NEW DELHI: Olympian wrestler Dharmveer died in a rail accident in Haryana last week. He was 32. Dharmveer represented the country in 28 international competitions including the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
He made his debut in 1983 in the world school wrestling championship which was held in the United States. He won a bronze medal in the junior asian meet. Dharmveer was national champion for 8 years and twice won gold medals twice in Commonwealth and Saf Games.

NEW DELHI: Prasar Bharati announced its decision to set up an exclusive 24 hour Doordarshan sports channel within next three to four months. The channel will telecast national and international sports events to 26 asian countries and will be free to air.
