Hunte dies of heart attack
BRIDGETOWN: Former West Indies opener Conrad Hunte died of a massive heart attack in a Sydney hospital. He was 67.
Hunte, elected president of the Barbados Cricket Association in October, played in 44 Tests, scoring 3,245 runs at an average of 45.06. He hit eight centuries. In his first Test series against Pakistan in 1957-58, amassing 622 runs at an average of 77.75. That included 142 in his first Test at Bridgetown, 260 in the third at Kingston — he added 446 for the second wicket with Sir Gary Sobers — and 114 in the fourth at Georgetown.
Hunte’s first-class career spanned 17 years during which he scored 8,916 runs at 43.92. He was knighted by the Barbados Government a year ago for his contribution to cricket.
Pushpakumara takes five on return

Ben Johnson to train Gaddafi Jr
TORONTO: Ben Johnson, the disgraced Canadian sprinter, has been hired as a personal trainer for the son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Just weeks after his third positive doping test, Johnson has been hired to go to Libya and help 25-year-old Saad get into shape for the upcoming Libyan soccer season. Johnson will be paid $ 30,000 to $ 50,000 during the 90-day stint. Johnson has been instructed not to look Saad “directly in the eye or touch him.”
Jeev, Ghei ninth
