Implement pay commission, demands Oppn

MUMBAI, March 19: Opposition members in the Legislative Council today denounced the state government for its 8220;anti- state government employee8221; policy and shouted slogans gathering around chairman Jayantrao Tilak at the end of the question hour.

Opposition leader Chhagan Bhujbal, Congress8217; Arun Mehta, Krupashankar Sing, JD member Vyamkappa Patki and others ran to Tilak8217;s chair and shouted slogans like implement recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission with effect from January 1, 96. Finance and Planning minister Mahadeo Shivankar refused to pay the government staffers their dues with retrospective effect, which angered the Opposition.
