NEW DELHI, MARCH 26: Pamela Philipose, a Senior Editor with The Indian Express and Vasavi of Prabhat Khabar, Ranchi, have been selected for the Media Foundation Chameli Devi Jain Award 1999 for outstanding woman mediaperson.

A distinguished journalist, now based in New Delhi, Pamela Philipose has been writing extensively on women8217;s issues, development, environment and human rights.

The jury consisted of Meenakshi Gopinath, Principal of the Lady Sri Ram College, Rami Chhabra, journalist, filmmaker and women8217;s activist and Prabhash Joshi, columnist and former editor of Jansatta.

It also made a commendation of Homai Vyarawala for her pioneering role in photojournalism over a lifetime.

The awards will be given away on March 31 at 6 pm at the India International Centre auditorium in New Delhi.
