Mumbai:
Industrial Development Bank of India has reported a 18 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 47 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, compared to Rs 40 crore posted in same period previous fiscal. Total income in the period under review decreased to Rs 1,665 crore as against Rs 1,824 crore registered in same period of last year, IDBI said in a release.

I-flex net profit up
Mumbai:
I-Flex solutions Ltd, IT solution provider to the financial service industry, has registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 35.64 crore for the third quarter ending December 31, 2003. The company’s consolidated revenue as per Indian Gaap for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 208.35 crore, I-flex said in a release here on Friday. For the nine months, consolidated net profit and revenues were Rs 124.1 crore and Rs 578.81 crore respectively.

NIIT profit up
New Delhi:
Niit Ltd on Friday posted profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 5.4 crore in the October-December quarter against a loss of Rs 1.1 crore in the same period last year. The company reported a revenue of 95.9 crore during the October-December quarter, representing an increase of 19 per cent on an year-on-year basis. NIIT Ltd’s operating profit also posted a 26 per cent rise during the quarter at Rs 15.2 crore.

Cipla net at Rs 75cr
Mumbai:
Cipla Ltd posted a 13.33 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 75.32 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, compared to Rs 66.46 crore in the same period previous fiscal. The total income in the period under review also increased to Rs 489.43 crore as against Rs 365.84 crore posted in Q3 of the last financial year.

CESC net at Rs 15cr
Kolkata:
Power utility CESC Limited has posted Rs 15 crore post-tax profit in the current third quarter as compared to Rs 40 crore loss in the comparable period last year. For the first nine months ending December 31, 2003, CESC’s net profit stood at Rs 53 crore against a loss of Rs 75 crore during the corresponding period last year. Total income of the company, including other income, increased 9.1 per cent at Rs 547 crore in the current third quarter as compared to Rs 501 crore in the same period last year.

GE Shipping net up
New Delhi:
Ge Shipping posted a quantum leap in net profit to Rs 110.01 crore in third quarter ended December 31, 2003, compared to Rs 47.74 crore recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal. GE Shipping total income rose to Rs 354.49 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 238.96 crore posted during the corresponding period of previous fiscal, it said. For the nine-month period ended December 31, the shipping major posted a net profit of Rs 286.36 crore on a total income of Rs 947.47 crore.

M&M net up
Mumbai:
Mahindra & Mahindra has posted a 184 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 87.42 crore for the third quarter ending December 31, 2003, as compared to Rs 30.79 crore in the same period of last fiscal. Net sales and income from operations for the quarter under review grew by 38 per cent to Rs 1,327.64 crore as against Rs 960 crore in Q3 last year, the company said.

Ceat Q3 net dips
Mumbai:
Ceat Ltd on Friday reported a 46.99 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 1.41 crore during the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, as against Rs 2.66 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Net sales during the reporting quarter were up 28 per cent at Rs 347.88 crore as compared to Rs 272.28 crore in the same period of earlier fiscal, the company said. The company said while margins were under pressure during the period due to very high prices of major raw material like natural rubber the large growth came from higher production, outsourcing and exports.

HPCL net up by 130% at Rs 775.7cr
Mumbai:
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd has posted a 130.80 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 775.71 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, as compared to Rs 330.62 crore in the same period last fiscal. Net sales were up during this period at Rs 14,259.45 as against Rs 14,219.89 crore in Q3 of 2002-03. The oil major said subsidy on LPG (domestic) and SKO(PDS) received and the discount on crude oil an SKO/LPG received from ONGC and Gail have been accounted as per the schemes approved by the government, the release said.
