Karnataka is mulling over issuing identity cards to its citizens and install surveillance cameras in sensitive locations besides setting up an anti-terrorist squad. Speaking in the Assembly, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said the squad would be given special anti-terrorist training.

The party has dropped 36 sitting MLAs and fielded young leaders, signaling a bid to consolidate its core Muslim-Yadav vote base. The Congress has fielded 60 candidates.
