CHANDIGARH, Feb 25: The annual sports meet of Haryana Warehousing Corporation will be held at Dronacharya Stadium, Kurukshetra on February 27 and 28, according to HWC secretary R B Sharma.

Competitions will be held in volleyball, kabaddi, tug of war, badminton and athletics. The athletic events include 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, 1000 metres and relay races.

According to R B Sharma, Haryana Social Welfare Minister Dr Kamla Verma will inaugurate the meet while Minister of State for Agriculture Mrs Krishna Gahlwat will distribute the prizes on the closing ceremoney.

Sumedha shines
Sumedha of College of Home Science and Manjeet Singh of College of Agriculture were declared the best athletes among women and men respectively in the 33rd annual athletic meet of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, held today.

In the women8217;s secction, the overall trophy went to College of Home Science while College of Agriculture bagged the trophy in men8217;s section.

Men: Triple jump: 1 Manjit Singh COA, 2 Balraj Singh Grewal CAE 3 Albel Singh COA. Hammer: 1 Sandeep Singh COVS, 2 Sukhwinder Singh COVS, 3 Kanwarjit Singh Bawa COVS.
