Hunger strike continues

CHANDIGARH, Oct 2: The chain hunger strike of Punjab government school lecturers entered its 70th day today. The agitators have been sitting in a dharna before the office of the Director of Public Instruction since July 26.

Union president Jiwan Parkash Sharma announced that the union would demonstrate before the DPI8217;s office on November 2.

Langar held
Lions Club Midtown, Lotus, and Leo Club, Rose, today organised a langar on Gandhi Jayanti in Colony No 5, Chandigarh. More than 500 colony-dwellers partook the langar. Region chairman B. S. Jaswal, Sarabjit Singh Behal, Baljit Modi, B. B. Sethi and Leo president Harjinder Modi were present on the occasion.
