SHIMLA, May 14: The state government continued its process to remove the officers under cloud from the key posts they were holding since the ouster of the Congress government.

Secretary of the Pollution Board Ashok Sharma was also removed from the post today and repatriated to his parent Industries Department. Sharma8217;s name had figured in an inquiry of the enforcement directorate recently on complaints of 8220;over-stepping8221; his financial powers. The government had been under pressure to repatriate him to the department.

Meanwhile the state government has posted B.S.Thind a SIG police Rules. He was removed from the post of managing director of the Agro Packaging India Limited yesterday.

BACKWARD STATUS DEMANDED: Himachal unit of Nepalese Unity Society has demanded backward status for the Nepalese living in the state.

In a 15-point demand charter to the state government, the society has highlighted the various difficulties being faced by the Nepalese of the state.

President Ishwar Pun and secretary Jan Bahadur Khaska of the society also demanded proper employment opportunities for the unemployed youth in the state having requisite qualifications.The society also demanded a Nepali news bulletin from Shimla and Dharamsala stations of All India Radio.
