NPS-18 cagers shine
New Public School-18 beat Guru Nanak Public School-36, 45-28 and DAV School-8 defeated Shivalik Public School-41 by 55-28 in the third Rao Jai Singh Memorial basketball tournament at the New Public School premises, today.

For NPS-18 Sundram Suri 16 and Satinder 12 were the main scorers while Jagpreet with 10 points top scored for GNPS-36.

Harjot and Amrish got 23 and 21 points, respectively, for DAV-8. Amandeep sunk 14 points for SPS-41.

DFA Kapurthala win
District Football Association, Kapurthala beat Chandigarh Police 2-1 in the All India Gurdarshan Singh Memorial football tournament at the Government Ripudaman College Stadium, Nabha, today. Munish scored for Chandigarh Police while Manjit and Jatinder Singh netted for Kapurthala. In another match ONGC, Dehradun beat NEI, Jaipur by 5-4 in the tie break.

St Stephen8217;s win title
St Stephen8217;s School-45 beat Govt Girls School-8, 3-1 via tie break to win final match of the Chandigarh State Inter-School football tournament for girls under-19 at the Govt Model School-22, today.

Both the teams played goalless draw in the regulation period. In the tie break Simran, Deepika and Jasdeep scored for St Stephen8217;s while Pinky Sharma netted for GGSS-8.

Shivalik Public School-41 defeated GHS-11, 4-2 in the tie break to win third place.

M Narang, Pawdeeep Kaur, Gundeep Kaur and Amrit converted for SPS-41. Bimla and Meenu scored for GHS-11.
