CUTTACK, JUNE 29: The Orissa High Court has directed the state government to produce the up to date case diary and medical report on the police firing at Sorana village in Khurda district on May 29 last in which four persons were killed.

A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Arijit Jpasayat and Justice Choudhury P K Mishra, acting on a PIL filed by Prasanta Das on Monday, adjourned the case till July 9 next and directed the state government to file counter.

Seeking a CBI probe into the incident, the petitioner alleged that the incident was a deep-rooted conspiracy hatched by bureaucrats, politicians and prawn cultivators, resulting in the death of four persons and injuries to several others in the police firing.

The petitioner also prayed to the court to call for the report on forensic report which, he claimed, had confirmed pellet injuries to some of the injured at Sorana village.

Four persons were killed and several others, including 20 policemen, were injured in the clash with fishermenat Sorana on the edge of Chilka lake.
