An 8-day event dedicated to Uttar Pradesh misses the local crowd while stalls are vending stuff from as far as Jammu 038; Kashmir
Sponsored by Pragati Paryavaran Sanrakshan Samiti, the eight-day 8216;UP Mahotsav 2008 is waiting for visitors at Chandrashekhar Azad Park Gole Market, Mahanagar in the State capital.
While cash boxes at various stalls are not jingling, the cultural stage is abuzz with activity. 8220;There has been enthusiastic participation in the cultural events from across the State,8221; informs media in charge Vinod Kumar Singh.
The highlight of the third day of the event was a Kavi Sammelan, prior to which Abhishek Tripathi, Shashank Shukla, Pradeep Kumar, Shweta Tiwari adn Anuja Maurya from Barabanki presented a dance programme.
In the poets8217; meet conducted by Shyam Srivastava 8216;Rohit8217;, there were recitals by Lavlesh Premi from Allahabad, Shivanshu Patel and Gaurav Maurya from Barabanki.
Apurva Srivastava and Harshita from Lucknow took part in the flower decoration contest.
Fancy dress and painting competitions were other features of the eventful day.
