
Andreas Liveras, 71, the Greek millionaire owner of Liveras Yachts was one of the casualties at the Taj Hotel on Wednesday. One of Liveras8217; luxury yachts, Alysia, that can accommodate 36 guests was docked at the Gateway of India for a three-day party, slated to start at 10 pm on Wednesday night. At 9 pm Liveras decided to go the Taj Hotel for an Indian meal. He was accompanied by a fellow Greek colleague who also got shot, but is out of danger.
Some of Liveras8217; guests had already arrived for the yacht party 8212; some Indians from Kolkata and Delhi, and 15 guests from London. The guests are not being permitted to leave the boat by police patrols around the Gateway. And 30 international crew members are also stuck on the luxury liner.
Over the last six months, Liveras had been coming to Mumbai to work on setting up yacht time-share operations in India with a Delhi-based partner. He bought his first yacht 20 years ago and owns 13 luxury liners himself. The yachts he planned to launch in India were equipped with saunas, steam rooms, cold plunge pools and Jacuzzis. The three-day party was to introduce Mumbai8217;s jet setting crowd to the luxury liner, also one of the most expensive in the world at 110000 Euros a day.
