On charges of corruption, fraud and amassing wealth through illegal means, Vice-Chancellor of Chandra Sekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology CSA V K Suri has registered a case against former V-C P K Singh with the Nawabganj police station.

Following a complaint lodged by Suri, a case under section 419, 420 of the IPC and 7/13 of the Anti Corruption Act has been registered against the former V-C. Similar cases have also been registered against the former V-C of Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, B B Singh, and former V-C of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, P P Singh, in Faizabad and Meerut respectively.

The three former V-Cs have been charged for corruption in the Distance Education Programme course during 2004.

The inquiry into the matter was headed by the then state Principal Secretary Agriculture Education and Research Department G Patnaik, who found that the

V-Cs did not take permission from the All India Council for Distance Education before starting the Distance Education course.

8220;After the completion of investigation by a state level committee, we received instructions from state Special Secretary Dheeraj Sahu, following which the case has been registered against the former V-C,8221; Suri told The Sunday Express.

8220;At prima facie, the report prepared by Patnaik finds the V-C guilty,8221; added Suri.
