MUMBAI, August 24: Fourth seed Nimesh Goyal created a flutter at the Khandu Rangnekar courts, Dadoji Konddeo Stadium, Thane this evening as he sent the second seed Sushant Niddodi of Mumbai Suburbs packing to enter the final of the junior boys singles of the First Maharashtra State Junior Selection Badminton Tournament.

The Thane-lad, Goyal, matched his higher ranked opponent to emerge a 17-14, 15-4 victor and set up a title clash with his team-mate and top seed Bhushan Paithankar.

Paithankar faced no hiccups on his way to a 15-7, 15-13 victory over third seed Gautam Poddar Mumbai Suburbs.

Pune-girl Trupti Murgunde was the other player to hog the limelight when she stunned top seed Roshni Thakur in the junior girls section. The Thane-lass, Roshni, failed to justify her billing as she went down 6-11, 7-11.

The fourth seed, Trupti will lock horns with second seed Neha Gangoli Greater Mumbai who tamed third seed Sim Sim Salaria Mumbai Suburbs 11-7, 11-2 in the other semi-final.
