PUNE, Sept 22: Goodwill Sports Club beat Kids XI 1-0 with a goal by Gunashekar Thambi to enter the final of the Sacchianand Gandham Memorial hockey tournament being played at the PCMC Poligras Stadium, here today.

Pune City triumph
Pune City claimed the Pune University Zonal hockey championship title by rounding off their round-robin campaign with a 2-1 win over Pune District at the Rural Police Ground, Pashan, today. Centre-forward Jayesh Rajput and inside-right Sachin Pawar scored for the winners while Amit Sapkal found the boards for District who finished runners-up.
Ahmednagar and Pune District drew 3-3 earlier in the day while Pune City ran up a huge 7-1 win over Nashik. P Atul with two goals and Bhupinder Singh scored for Ahmednagar while Vijay Chavan with two and Amit Sapkal netted for District.
Jayesh Rajput struck three goals, Clement D8217;Souza two and Rahul Sonawne and Abbas Tinwalla one each for City. Ahmednagar beat Nashik 3-1 with goals by Ramesh Patare 2 and Bhupinder Singh. J Sonawne reduced the margin.
