MUMBAI, September 19: Versova Village Boys held Godfather goalless in the WIFA-conducted Division I football league at the Goan Sports Association ground, Cross maidan, today.

Milan and Ryan International Nerul were also concerned in a goalless draw in a Division II tie. Ekta Utsav Mandal drew 1-1 with Allies in the Division III tussle. Harshad scored for Ekta and Emilo Singh equalised.

Leyland remembered

Former Times of India hockey correspondent, Leyland D8217;Souza, who passed away on September 10, 1998 was remembered by fellow journalists and sportspersons at a condolence meeting held in the Wankhede Stadium media-conference room on Saturday evening. Speaking on the occasion Mr Sunder Rajan, the former Times of India editor said: 8220;He was a very good friend and a still better human being.8221;
