PARMA: Dutchman Patrick Kluivert scored a priceless equaliser in the fourth minute of injury-time last night, earning AC Milan a 2-2 draw at Parma and a place in the Italian Cup final. Kluivert, who had also scored in first-half injury time, drove home the decider just when all looked lost for Fabio Capello8217;s team.
AC Milan now meet Lazio in next month8217;s final over two legs and their last move before the whistle provided a stunning finale to a match which had first swung Milan8217;s way and then Parma8217;s, before finally being decided on the away goals rule. The first leg had finished goalless.
Kiwis8217; behaviour comes under fire
WELLINGTON: New Zealand8217;s cricket team has been attacked for 8220;childish8221; and aggressive on-field behaviour by a leading coaching official. Coaching New Zealand president Nicki Turner, a former women8217;s international cricketer, said players in most sports had markedly improved their conduct in recentyears.
However, Turner criticised the men8217;s cricket team for their 8220;childish and inappropriate8221; language and derision of opponents this season. 8220;The CNZ executive are very concerned with what8217;s happening with the top men8217;s side at the moment,8221; Turner said.
Aussie swimmer tests positive
SYDNEY: Australian swimmer and world championship silver medalist Richard Upton said he had tested positive for a banned drug administered by his doctor as treatment for a throat infection. Upton said he had tested positive for probenecid in an out-of-competition test last month. He faces a two-year ban but vowed to clear his name. Upton said he was innocent because the substance was part of an antibiotic treatment for tonsillitis.
